Alistair Ryder

After a few years working at a small, local newspaper in Cambridge, Alistair became a full-time film and TV critic, publishing pieces at the BFI, GQ, Vice, Little White Lies, Digital Spy, and more. By day, he interviews the greats of the entertainment world for his day job at Zavvi, and by night, he criticizes their work as a regular reviewer for Looper, The Film Stage, Vague Visages, and more. Recent interview highlights have included chats with Mark Ruffalo and Willem Dafoe about "Poor Things," Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby, and Pom Klementieff about "Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning," and Jeffrey Wright and Sterling K. Brown about "American Fiction."

Alistair graduated from Leeds Trinity University in 2015 with a degree in journalism, and worked part-time at a multiplex cinema while studying.
